Our Mission

To help homeless cats and dogs find loving forever homes, help lost pets find their owners, to promote responsible pet ownership, and to advocate humane treatment of all animals

Founded in 1973

The Madison County Humane Society has sustained as Madison County's only private and 100% donation only funded shelter since 1973.

Madison County Humane Society is a 501(c)(3), no-kill cat and dog receiving shelter funded by donations, fund-raising efforts & nominal fees. We receive no taxpayer monies. We shelter more than 100-115 homeless animals every day and often have some in foster care.

In 2023 we took in 640 animals and adopted out 540 animals. Our operating cost was over $350,000 that solely came from donations!
